How to stay focus and productive in homeoffice ?

Comment rester concentré et productif en télétravail

Dear reader, if you are reading this post, you are probably confined because of Covid-19, just like us. Having created coworking spaces with the exact purpose of avoiding the home office, we know how difficult it can be to focus on your work. Children, TV shows, sunbathing for the lucky ones, we want to do everything but work… Let us give you some tips to motivate you!

Environment

Creating an atmosphere conducive to work really helps! If you can, move to a room other than your bedroom, and close to a source of direct light. Also, try to maintain the habits you had in the office: did you work to music? Keep listening to it! If you’re in need of inspiration, we’ve created a Spotify playlist that you should enjoy!

2. New goals

You certainly won’t be able to be as productive as you were three weeks ago: some of your projects are on standby, you don’t have access to all the resources you need, and there are clearly too many distractions at home! If you can’t focus on your tasks, maybe it’s time to put your energy into that idea in the corner of your head that you never developed!

You should also adapt your work to the situation, especially if you work in the communication sector! How do you communicate in this time of coronavirus? We found this article very interesting!

A bit of sport

OK, so you can’t go out… But you can still do some physical activity from your living room! It’s easy: grab a gym mat (or a towel, no excuses) and do a set of crunches! Stand up, one leg in front, one leg behind and lower yourself until your knee touches the floor, then stand back up. Finally, you don’t have a dumbbell at home? Don’t worry, a 1 litre bottle will do the trick!

4. Don’t feel guilty!

It’s a new situation and everyone handles it in their own way. If yours is working from your bed, in your pyjamas with a tub of Ben&Jerry’s ice cream and your favourite TV show, well… that’s great! The most important thing is not to rush the signals our bodies are sending us!

For us, this experience has confirmed our belief that it is easier to work in a real office to separate private and professional life. However, we are learning from this situation, and it allows us to orientate our projects so that they coincide even more with your expectations!
